1 Year Stats

We went to visit Dr. Williams a few weeks ago and I forgot to post Harper's 1 year stats. She weighed 19 lbs. 6 oz. (45%), 30 in. long (80%) and head was 18.7 inch. (97%).

Did I mention this baby loves to eat?

Precious Payton

Our big girl has matured so much lately. Her nightly prayers are enough to melt my heart. She has reached a point where sometimes we can actually see that all of the manner corrections, timeouts, talks, etc etc may actually be settling in just a bit. I said just a bit. We are still having fits and defiance at times, but also at times can see what a sweet well mannered child she CAN be. Anyways, our conversation the other night:

P: Mommy, please leave the door open and leave that light on so I don't get scared.
Me: Remember that when you are scared you can pray for God to protect you and take away your fears.
P: But God can't hear me, he's in heaven.
Me: Yes he can. God hears every single one of our prayers. You may not necessarily hear him speaking to you, but I promise he hears every prayer.
P: If he calls on the phone can I please talk to him?

Love. That. Child.

Oh, did I mention we also have a swimmer?

Gymnast in Training

Payton finally started gymnastics last week. We have been waiting for her to be old enough and she was super pumped. We picked out a leotard at Academy, of course she loved the most obnoxious pink purple sparkly combination. She loved it, that's all that matters. She was super excited and from what her teacher said, she did an excellent job! The tiny tots class is way in the back of the gym making it very hard to see. However we did realize that was probably for the best because it helps them stay focused. We are excited to see our little gymnast learn and grow!

July 4th

Jonathan had to work on the fourth, so we stayed in town until he got off and headed to Nana and Pop's house. Payton was her little swimming self and Harper just hung out. We had a delicious meal and even better company.

Afterwards we headed to the fireworks. I realize that I look like an idiot here, but sweet Harper was being such a cuddle bug. She was SO sleepy. She watched the first firework shoot off, cried a short cry, and spent the rest of the time cuddled up to me like this. I was in heaven! She just doesn't give out these cuddles much anymore.

Daddy and Payton watching the fireworks. Payton made a point to yell out each color that she saw in the sky.

Not really into a sister picture.

The following weekend we headed to the lake to continue celebrations. We just couldn't stand the thought of missing the annual golf cart parade. Jonathan is already dreaming up what he and Payton are going to do next year. HAHA!

You have no idea how serious these people are... Refer back to my post from July 4, 2010 for more pictures.

We spent the lazy day at the lake. Thankfully the weather cleared up after a cloudy morning and we enjoyed a nice long boat ride.

The Party

We had Harper's birthday party at the lake. Of course we had record highs that weekend reaching above 100, but luckily we had reserved the clubhouse with air conditioning and fans. Even though I didn't start planning the decor until about a week before, I think it turned out really cute. We just went with a beachy/summer theme. The banner doesn't show up well in this picture but it was super cute along with the fruit display. My fabulous husband made the pineapple flowers, impressive isn't he?
I LOVE this pouty lip.

All five grandchildren in one picture. Impressive! It's not perfect but no one is screaming either!

Harper had lots of family to help her celebrate.

We all ate some yummy BBQ thanks to Bamama!

We played with balloons.

I did a picture banner from each month. So sweet to see how she has grown each month.

Swim time!

Little fish!

Haisley even took a dip in the lake!

Daddy giving Harper her very own cake!

Pinkalicious????

Oh my!
This is yummy!

CRASHED! After only a 45 minute nap and hours of partying, our birthday girl finally crashed around 4:30.
Since no energy was left for presents, we did that on her actual birthday. Of course big sister was there to help every step of the way.

Thank you so much to everyone who helped make Harper's first birthday so special!
