Summer Fun (3rd Edition)

Harper's 3 year stats

We went to see Dr. Williams last week for Harper's 3 year well visit. They gave her a quick vision test, as well as checked her iron and the normal run down. She weighed 31lb. 3oz. (56%) and was 37.75 in. (68%). Of course when asked what her favorite foods were, she responded with "ball chicken" and milk. Nothing quite like the shame of your child admitting processed chicken nuggets are their favorite food to the pediatrician. Luckily, she's not very judgmental and just encouraged Harper to continue to eat vegetables also. :)

I did her questionnaire a few weeks ago, but just a little more about her: She has really started to enjoy books more lately. She gets really into the story line and likes to retell the events and about the characters. She loves playing outside, including riding her new scooter she got for her birthday. She also loves bubbles and swinging. This summer she has really started to color more and doing a better job other than just scribbling. She knows about 60% of her letters, knows how to spell her name, and is pretty good at counting. I will say that she's not near into as Payton was at this age, but that is totally fine! It is very obvious she's a smart girl and I know she will get it all when she is ready. One of my favorites quotes, "You member Mommy...."when she reminds me about something. She has been known to say the craziest things, "Wait a second guys...." when trying to interject in a conversation. Disciplining her has been quite the challenge the past year, but she is doing much better. After taking sad spoon with us everywhere for a while, luckily we hardly need it anymore. :) She can be very stubborn, yet very sensitive at the same time. She loves playing with other children and adores her brother and sister both. So thankful for that sweet "peanut" as I like to call her!

Disney Day 5

Our last day at Disney was spent in the morning at Animal Kingdom. The girls loved DinoLand, which was closed last time we were there due to rain. I seriously think they could have stayed there all day. Payton got very brave climbing the rope nets to get to the top slides. The only tricky part was keeping yup with them both. 

We walked the nature trail, rode a few rides, and saw the parade. We didn't do the safari because I believe Harper and Anderson were both asleep and we couldn't wake them to only scream the whole way. Everyone agreed that since we did it last time, we would skip it this go around. I had heard the parade there was unique and fun. I think they are discontinuing the parade this summer, so I'm glad we saw it. We enjoyed some pizza and a great view from our tables.

We decided we would spend our last night back at Magic Kingdom riding our favorite rides again and wrapping up our wonderful trip. Everyone was exhausted at this point so we didn't stay too late.

We had a wonderful trip and thanks again to Bamama, Grandaddy, Nana, and Pop for going with us and offering helping hands every step of the way. I seriously couldn't imagine how exhausted we would have been without them because we were beat as it was. Until next time...

Disney Day 4

I am doing my best to complete my posts about our Disney trip in March. Go back to May's post to see Day 1, 2, and 3. I just posted day 3 today, but it was saved in draft from May. I'll do my best to rehash the remaining events.

Day 4 was a big day...our reservations at Cinderella's Castle for dinner. Since we didn't leave the park until about 1am the night before, then had to make our way back to the hotel, we were all exhausted Wednesday morning. We decided that instead of trying to push it, we would have a lazy morning, then head to Magic Kingdom mid afternoon for our reservations around 5. We decided to take the ferry over this time.

As you can tell by our clothing, there was a big of a cold snap while we were there, so it was a chilly ride especially out of the sun.

I was trying to make it there that day in time for the afternoon Main Street parade. We got there just in time, although we didn't have a super view. (Side note: I forgot to mention that on the first day in the parks we got to see the electrical parade while eating at a restaurant.)

Once again, Harper missed the parade because she was asleep.

Everyone asked if we saw Anna and Elsa while we were there. Yes, we did, at the parade. We waved from afar and convinced Payton that they waved right to her. (The lines at Epcot were apparently about 3 hours long, something we weren't going to do.) She was completely satisfied with that!

We also got to see the show in front of the castle before making our way to transform in Cinderellas.

Both girls were so excited. Harper just stood in awe, and Payton wasn't really as hesitant.

We enjoyed our meal and got to visit with the princesses as they came around.

These two might be the funniest two pictures I have of the whole trip.

Anderson made his way around the park for the remainder of the evening getting lots of attention as you can imagine. His sisters thought it was hilarious.

After enjoying dinner, we made our way to more rides and fun. We even caught Grandaddy on Dumbo!

I guess I hadn't done my research very well since our first trip. All of the main characters hang out behind the circus tent. It was getting pretty late, so there was absolutely no lines. The girls loved seeing them dressed up differently, especially Minnie in her pink attire. We also hadn't seen Daisy yet, who was first on Harper's list.

They just never got tired of it; look at those smiles!

After riding a few more rides, we cashed in our fast pass to see Rapunzel (top of Payton's list). The girls were so exhausted at this point you can see the daze in their eyes. 

Onto the last full day of Disney...

Harper's 3rd birthday bash

We celebrated sweet Harper's 3rd birthday with a splash! Nothing screams summer birthday like sprinklers, a slip and slide, and good ole' baby pools. 

Harper was so excited about her upcoming birthday and party. She was counting down the days (or hours, whichever she chose to say) and couldn't wait until her special day.

I was really worried about keeping approximately 20 kids entertained for this shindig, but I think they all had a pretty good time.

An hour and a half of water balloon filling was gone in all of about 4 minutes.

How harper shows her three fingers for how old she is. Who knows where she learned that!

We had the cute cupcakes, but I was afraid that we would need more cake to accommodate everyone. She picked out this cake herself and you would think that it was the most special cake ever if you asked her. Gosh, I love this girl!

I just had to include this picture. I looked over to Harper licking the blanket. She accidentally spilled her cupcake, and didn't want to waste any icing. She has some serious problem solving skills, I tell you!

Happy Birthday to our sweet Harper Lynn! I just can't believe what a big girl that you have become. You have grown and matured so much this past year and even the last few months. Your obedience has come leaps and bounds with progress, you are hilarious, and you can always find the perfect things to say or do that just make our hearts smile. Thank you for making life more fun. I look forward to all that three has in store...although, don't let it go too fast!
