Thanksgiving Lunch

Payton had a lunch at her school the Tuesday before Thanksgiving. I wasn't able to leave work so Bamama had to take pictures for us. I think Payton made a pretty cute little pilgrim!

Veteran's Day Weekend

We headed to the beach over the long weekend so enjoy some time together. I can't say that we did a whole lot, but we enjoyed being lazy. Saturday we went to Pier Park where they have inflatables and a bungee trampoline. Jonathan convinced Payton to jump and she loved it. She wasn't so sure about flipping, but I think if she was given more time she would have done it.

A cold front hit that weekend so it was pretty chilly. The water was probably more beautiful than I have ever seen. Payton managed to play in the sand for a short bit. Harper was still recovering from her cold, so we hated to keep her out in the wind too long.

We are definitely thankful for the men and women who sacrifice (or have sacrificed) their lives to give us freedom!

Our little gardener

Last weekend Pawpaw dropped off some pretty flowers for us to plant in our yard. After a quick trip to Lowe's for some dirt, we decided that Payton needed some princess gardening gloves also. She was our little helper making sure the flowers went just where they needed to go. As you can see, Harper enjoyed being a spectator. Thank you Pawpaw for the beautiful flowers!

4 Months

Size: She weighs 13 lbs. 15 oz. (50th%) and is 25.25 inches (80th%). Her head is 16.6 in. (80th%). Payton weighed exactly the same at her 4 month check up and was 0.05 inches shorter. I guess it's fair to say that they are pretty identical in size. She is wearing some 3 month clothes, but can also wear 6 months and they're not too big at all. She is in size 2 diapers.

Eating: She is still a very unpredictable eater. We fix her 6 ounces when we fix a bottle. She eats generally every 4 hours. We have tried some rice cereal and a few veggies. So far, she really isn't in to solids. We may take a break for a few days and try again.

Sleeping: She is still not sleeping through the night. I do realize that Payton completely spoiled us. She has gotten close a few times. Last week she was sleeping from 9-4 and even slept 8 hours straight on Friday night. The nights where she sleeps 7-8 hours are the nights where we can get her to take some type of solid food, so hopefully that will come with time also. Some of her naps are becoming longer instead of cat naps throughout the day. We still don't have her on a rigid schedule, but she has taken a nap in her bed a few times!

New tricks: This girl is rolling everywhere!!! As mentioned in the three month post, she had just started rolling both ways. She is now a rolly polly and will get across the room within a matter of seconds. We stopped swaddling her when I found her rolled over in her bed (while being swaddled). I was worried that would mess up her sleep, but it hasn't a bit. She pretty much rolls to her tummy as soon as we lay her down and gets her little knees underneath her. It's the cutest thing, I am going to try to get a picture. She also found her voice this past month. She loves to have conversations and listen to every word when someone speaks to her.

She is becoming less dependable on her paci, and sometimes just doesn't care for it. We are pretty sure that she has started teething, which is really no surprise since Payton cut her first tooth at 4.5 months. She is still a pretty good baby most of the time. I tell people that she's all or nothing. When she's happy, she is so content, but when she gets mad, it's bad. Luckily, that doesn't happen too often.

She has a little cold/cough right now so we are hoping to get rid of it and have our smiley girl back. Happy fourth months, Harper bug!

Ariel and a Flower

That's what the girls were for Halloween this year. I was determined for them to be Little Bo Peep and a sheep. I had even talked Payton into it and she was excited. Then I started looking for Little Bo Peep costumes and couldn't find one that was even half way cute. After my plan failed, we figured we would just let Payton be whatever she wanted. She is very into princesses and especially The Little Mermaid right now, so Ariel it was. I had not planned on dressing Harper in a costume since I knew it would probably just make her ill. I had a little pumpkin outfit that I could wear if she was up for it. That was until I saw this adorable flower costume that was just too cute to pass up. She actually loved it and didn't fuss a bit. It was pretty chilly when we went trick-or-treating so it was nice to have her bundled up. We had a little get together at Aunt Vicki and Uncle Grady's house. After eating dinner, we hit a few houses. I guess we made a mistake by letting their house be the first that she got candy from. After going to her second house, she kept telling us that she wanted to go back to Aunt Vicki and Uncle Grady's house because they have lots of candy. I guess it makes sense...why keep walking around to get a piece at each house, when you can get a hand full in one place? Either way, she loved it and we were very proud of her sweet manors without even being reminded.

The week before Halloween carving our pumpkin...I failed to get a finished product, but Daddy did a great job!

Farewell

Jonathan departed ways from DADSVN (Dad's Van) last week. It has been quite the joke the past three years that my wonderful-doesn't fear to be different-husband drives a mini van. Before we traded it in, I told him to be sure to get a picture to keep memories. I have to admit, it was a good and practical car, just not what every 25 year old mom wants to drive. I won't say that I will never drive one, because the day may come, but for now we are no longer a mini van family. I don't think he's shed any tears yet, but I'm just waiting.

Just kidding, honey! You know I love you and your Dad's van. I love that you drove it proud and took our little ones where they needed to go. Payton wasn't thrilled when she realized that we didn't have it anymore either.

Tiger in Training

We took Payton to watch Auburn play Ole Miss for her first Auburn football game. I have to admit, we were a little worried. She did awesome and enjoyed every minute of the whole experience.

We got to our seats about 30 minutes before kick off. We didn't want to miss any of the pregame, especially the eagle flying. Payton loved watching the band and Aubie. She was so excited during the pre game show that I was a little worried when the football players came out. She wanted to know where the band was going. She quickly caught on to cheering and loved every minute. We really went with no expectations, just wanting to see how it would go. It was rather windy and chilly that evening. We made it through the half time show and figured it would be better to leave before she got too tired and cold. We had so much fun experiencing her first game with her. I think she enjoyed a little undivided attention too while Bamama and Grandaddy took care of Harper at home. It brings back so many memories of going to games when I was little. I can't wait to take her to more in the future!
