Daddy Daughter Date Night

For Christmas, Payton gave Jonathan tickets to their first Daddy Daughter Date Night.  The anticipation has been building ever since. Although she wasn't really sure what to expect with the actual event, she did know that she was going to dress in a pretty dress and have Daddy all to herself for the night. That was really all of the details she needed. The night finally came and she was ecstatic to say the least. She got all dressed up and even posed for some pictures without much resistance.

Harper had to get in on the shoot also.

She was very excited to receive a flower from Daddy. It didn't stay together too long, but it was fun while it lasted.

While getting dressed, she reminded Daddy that she was supposed to dress pretty, and he was supposed to dress fancy since he was a boy.

We sent them off for a night of fun. She told me that she wished me and Harper could see her, so we asked Daddy to take a few pictures throughout the night for us. Jonathan gave Payton the choice of where to eat for dinner. Although she originally thought that Old McDonald's (McDonald's) or Burger King would be the best choice, I think they finally came to an agreement on pizza at Brick Oven.

Apparently she was the winner of a fancy princess tiara, which of course she loved!!!

The last picture I got from the evening was a stop at Payton's favorite spot, Yogurt Mountain. I would say that's a great way to wrap up a fun night.

The best for last...this was a video he took with his phone at the dance. I just laughed hysterically when I watched it. I love how she is completely oblivious to anyone around her and danced like she would in our living room. Sweet memories were made for sure!

Harper and I enjoyed dinner with Bamama and Grandaddy, and I think it's fair to say that Harper enjoyed some individual attention as well. Definitely a reminder how important it is to spend time with each child indvidually. I know that will certainly get more challenging in a few months.

A special gift

I may have left out a few pictures from Christmas... 

Payton and Harper got to open a special present Christmas Eve night at Nana and Pop's house. 

A simple balloon can make these two girls light up like you wouldn't believe.

BABY!

That's right! Payton and Harper are going to be BIG SISTERS! We are thrilled to welcome baby #3 into our family sometime around August (ish). We still don't have a definite due date, but we are guessing that I'm somewhere around 12 weeks, which would make me due the beginning of August. We are praying for a healthy baby to complete our family. Payton was originally convinced it was a boy, only because she said we already had two sisters. Now she has decided she thinks it's a girl. Either way, we are absolutely thrilled to welcome our new addition!

Harper at 18 months

Little bit turned 18 months this week! Crazy! I haven't updated on her development in a while so here goes...

Size: When we went to the doctor this week she weighed 21 lbs. 14 oz. (40%) and was 31.5 in. (50%). Dr. Williams said that she has definitely evened out some since our last appointment. Her head was 19 in. (90%), no surprise there! She is wearing size 4 diapers and mostly 18 month clothes. Her tiny little waste still barely holds up pants.

Eating: She has definitely become more picky with her eating lately. She is really bad about wanting something, taking one bite, and then wanting something else to eat. Santa brought her mum mums in her stocking and that was a huge hit. Around Thanksgiving she did cut about 6 teeth at one time. I"m not certainly how many she has now, but she definitely has a mouth full. She cut all 6 molars at the same time...that was fun!

Communication: When she was about 17 months it's like she all of a sudden starting talking within a weeks time. She went from saying maybe 3 words: cup, dada, and ba (bath) to all of a sudden talking. Some of her most frequent words that I can think of right now are: dada, mama, sis (sissy), dog, Mol (Mollie), ba (bath), cup, Ba-ma, Nana, Pop, she attempts Grandaddy, eat, bar, chee (cheese), pease (please), thank (thank you), more, baby, truck, car, hey, hi, bye-bye, lu you (love you). You get the point, it's so nice to be able to communicate now without her throwing a complete fit because she can't say what she wants. However she does sometimes pull her hair and get frustrated, the communication is definitely better. She has been introduced to the world of time out, and definitely understands when she is not behaving and you ask her if she wants to go to time out.

Sleep: She still loves to sleep...taking good naps and goes down easily at night. Lately she has been wanting an extra hug and kiss after you put her in her crib. If you forget she will scream just to remind you as you shut the door. After that extra hug she lays down with no problem!

Tricks: She is a climber. Like climbs on anything and everything. Of course this really isn't anything new to us since Payton was the same way. She wants to climb up chairs and furniture and sit in them. As I sit here typing this, she came to me and said "poop", proceeded to go into the cabinet and get a diaper and wipes, and bring them to me. Ready for potty training? Maybe so, I'm just no sure this mama wants to endure it quite as long as we did with Payton. At times I think we started too early with her, which is what prolonged it. Who knows! Mom swears she's ready and I've told her that she is welcome to get a jump start, I'm just not so sure we are ready. :)

Christmas Day

Santa made a delivery when the girls went to bed. On our way to bed that night, Payton kept saying that she heard something and she was so worried it was Santa. We told her that Santa wouldn't leave presents until she was asleep so she was afraid she might get skipped.

These girls were so tired from the night before that they didn't wake up until about 6:45 when we daddy couldn't wait any longer.

The butterfly pillow was definitely the hit for Payton. She spied one back in June at a furniture store and she hasn't stopped talking about it since. I love the simplicity of a three year old.

The hit for Harper was the box of mum mum's. 

Payton had a special gift just for daddy that she wrapped all by herself. Daddy will be taking her to Daddy Daughter Date Night in February!

After seeing what Santa brought we headed over to Nana and Pop's again to see everyone. When we got there Harper was a little overwhelmed not wanting to open any presents. She only wanted to play with Chase's cash register.

Payton on the other hand jumped right in.

Daddy was so excited about it his griddle that has been on his wish list for a few years. We can't wait to enjoy yummy food off of it.

Harper missed the memo that the jeep was for the baby dolls.

Breakfast time! All five grandchildren eating breakfast at Nana and Pop's house. We are so excited about bookshelves for our playroom from Nana and Pop!

We then loaded up again and headed to Bamama and Grandaddy's house. The girls were once again spoiled with gifts galore.

After finishing at their house, it was time to head to Great Bamama's house for a yummy late breakfast and dirty Santa.

We didn't take the camera out anymore after leaving there. We headed home to get good naps while it rained and then went back to Nana and Pop's house for Christmas dinner. We have had so much fun staying home for the past few days slowly but surely getting to play with all of our new toys. Thank you so much to everyone who spoiled the girls rotten. Oh, and I forgot to mention Mommy got pretty spoiled this Christmas also! Jonathan is taking me to Mexico in March!!!!
