Easter

We celebrated Easter with early church and spending the rest of the day at Nana and Pop's house. The kids had fun getting the eggs ready on Saturday in time for the big hunt Sunday afternoon. The picture of these kiddos cracks me up. I think it pretty much sums up their willingness to have their picture taken.
"No one told me there were smarties in here!"

The WHOLE crew.
An attempt at a family picture with a wonderful backdrop of a truck.

Bamama even came down! She enjoyed watching the kids, and we of course loved having her there!

The things they say...

Payton: Mommy, Jesus lives in our hearts. Why does God live in heaven?

Me: Well, because God is in heaven to make it a happy place.

Payton: (in a very excited voice) Will God be at Disney World???

Annual egg hunt

Two teachers at my school hosted an egg hunt again this year. As always, everything was super cute and fun was had by all. These are all phone pictures since I wasn't sure I could juggle two kids and a camera. It's crazy to think that the first year they did this Payton was 6 weeks old!

Spring Break according to my phone

We've celebrated birthdays, played outside, painted toenails for the first time, and much more! Luckily we still have 5 more days!

The face says it all

At 8.5 months Harper is finally cutting her first tooth. The first clue something was up was her waking up around 5 a.m. Saturday morning. They had to come get us from the nursery at church yesterday, and for my baby who is not what I would consider a crier, we felt terrible for her! Hopefully it will come on through and not cause too much pain. I just have a feeling we have several others right behind this one!

A Little Late

Unfortunately Jonathan and I had to work on Payton's birthday. With him at a new job and a special event at my school that night, we wanted to give our birthday girl as much attention as possible. We woke her up with a mini-muffin (her favorite!) and three candles to blow out. At first she thought we were nuts, but quickly realized what all the fuss was about.

We sent cupcakes to school to celebrate her birthday with her friends. Unfortunately I couldn't get away, but the grandmothers took pictures to share!

She stayed at Nana's the day of her birthday and Ella just happened to be in town also. Of course I was having a pitty party for myself that I wasn't with her, but I'm positive Payton didn't want me there anyways. They took the kiddos to Burger King to eat and play, and Payton had a blast.

I have been postponing this post until I got pictures from her school celebration, but I figured I needed to go ahead and post since that hasn't happened yet. At her 3 year appointment, she weighed 30lbs 3.2oz and was 37 inches tall. Big girl is growing so fast!

8 Months

Sweet Harper bug was 8 months on March 2. Yes, I realize that she is now nearing nine months but my motivation to blog has been lacking lately. I did however get her 8 month picture taken within a few days of her turning 8 months. I have done a terrible job of taking pictures this month, and the ones that I took for the post were not the best. She is busy, busy and we spend my of my our time chasing after her, keeping her out of things, and making sure everything is picked up that is a choking hazard.
Size: She is in mostly 6-9 month clothes right now and still wearing size 3 diapers. We haven't had an doctor's appointment since January, but by my best estimate is that she weighs somewhere around 17 pounds.
Eating: Her eating schedule is pretty much the same since 7 months, and it is so nice to have a definite schedule. She has had puffs, mum mums, yougurt melts, and even some Gerber cookies that daddy bought as a Valentine's present. We've tried mushed up eggs and sweet potatoes, but she's not quite a fan yet.

Tricks: She crawls at rapid speeds, can pull up on anything and everything in 2 seconds flat, and thinks she is big enough to do everything big sister is doing. Our favorite is that she has started waving. She has always loved to watch hands, so we have done a lot of waving and pat-a-cake. In the last few weeks she has really started waving on cue. She use to throw her arms in the air, but she has an actual wave now. Her new favorite discovery is Mollie's food bowl. She wants to get a hold of any toy of Payton's that she can't have due to a possible choking hazard.

Payton continues to be a fabulous big sister. Her newest thing is getting diapers out for her and teaching her the colors on the diaper. We fully expect for Harper to have them mastered before her first birthday. Just kidding! Harper adores her big sister and Payton loves nothing more than to make her laugh.
Harper has had a yucky cough and snotty nose the past few weeks, but hopefully things are getting better now! I will try to post her nine month post before April.
