4 months

This post is a few days late, Payton actually turned four months on Sunday but I was waiting until her doctors appointment to post. We got a great report from Dr. Williams yesterday. The big girl weighs 13lbs. 15oz. (50th percentile), is 25 1/8 in long (75th percentile--don't know where that's coming from), and her head is a whopping 17in (90th percnetile--she is going to be a smart girl!) She said that we could start her on fruits and vegetables twice a day. The poor girl got four shots and was NOT happy about it. I told Jonathan I was never taking her to get shots by myself again. She was so pitiful afterwards. Although I quickly gave her some Tylenol and put her in the car to Birmingham and she was out. She is changing so much right now. Some of the things about our angel at 4 months are:
-She has finally learned to roll over from her back to stomach, although she gets mad when she can't get back over.
-She has been sleeping through the night for a little over a month. I hope and pray this continues, it is wonderful!
-While she does sleep great at night, she is not a great napper at all! She will do anything to keep herself awake during the day. My theory is that I would much rather have her sleeping good at night so I don't really mind.
-She loves to sleep with her hands behind her head.
-She still loves bath time and has loved swimming other than the first time Jonathan traumatized her. :)
-She is a smiling girl! She almost always smiles and is in such a good mood. She is such a good baby and doesn't mind staying on the go.

We are loving every single minute with her. We are really enjoying seeing all of her changes and her personality. We are blessed!

Pictures

I had some pictures taken of Payton today. These are just a few of my favorites. She was an absolute angel the entire time. I could eat this girl up!!

Father's Day Weekend

Whew! What a busy last few days it has been. Saturday Jonathan ended up having to work in the morning and I went to a baby shower for Katie. As soon I got home we left to go to Montgomery to visit Jonathan's dad and Renee and had dinner with them. We had so much fun and thankfully Miss Payton decided to behave while we were at the restaurant (something she doesn't always like to do when we eat out.) After visiting with them for a while, we headed to the lake to spend the night and spend most of the day on Sunday with my dad. Jonathan had a great first father's day with Payton doing what he loves most, hanging out at the lake. We went for another try on the boat and Payton loved it. She actually fell asleep very shortly after getting on, and I kept waking her up to make sure she was okay. :) We headed back early from the lake Sunday to come work in the yard. We have decided to put our house on the market and we have really neglected our yard this year (I can't imagine why). We spent several hours laying pine straw, weed eating, and planting flowers. The realtor came to take pictures of the house Monday afternoon so I did a high speed clean of the house Monday morning. I told Jonathan Monday when he got home from work that you know it's been a busy day when I haven't even had a chance to watch Army Wives from Sunday night! Tuesday has been just as busy.

All in all, we had a fabulous Father's Day weekend. Being a daddy's girl myself, I know that there's just something special about a daddy and daughter. I hope that Payton is always daddy's little girl. It's crazy to think that last Father's Day was actually the day that we found out we were pregnant! That gift was a little hard to top this year. Happy late Father's Day to Jonathan, Paw paw, Grandaddy, and all the other dads!

Swimming Adventure

I took Payton swimming today! She actually went for a quick dip last week for about 30 seconds before a thunderstorm came up, but I refuse to post the video because I looked ridiculous yelling at Jonathan not to dunk her in the water. I think it goes without saying that I lost that battle.

She got all suited up, lathered with sunscreen, and was ready to go...

It started like this... (not too sure about all of this)

and quickly changed to this...

this was the look I got after she got out...

and she stayed in long enough to cause this...

and this was what she was doing before we were out of my parent's drive way...

Pictures from the week

We haven't done anything exciting enough to justify its own post this past week, so I decided just to include some pictures that I have taken this week.

Payton eats like a champ. This is daddy feeding her rice cereal in her new high chair.

This child loves to put anything and everything in her mouth. As you can see, sometimes she even plays with toys while managing to still fit her hands in there somewhere.

Payton got to play with cousin Kayden while we were visiting Bamama. I can't believe how much he has grown. It's amazing what a difference 6 weeks makes!

Have a great week!

Lovin' the lake

After getting home from Las Vegas, we were home just enough time to wash clothes and repack for the lake. It was Payton's first time to spend the weekend at the lake and she was such a good girl. She went tubing (on the porch of course)and she loved it. This was her little hangout while we were outside. Doesn't she look happy?

Next, Daddy was determined to get her on the boat. While I was afraid the entire time that someone was going to call DHR, I caved and let her go. A girl at school told me that she had her little girl on a boat by Payton's age which made me feel a little better. She got to wear her life jacket that the Easter bunny brought. We didn't go far and Daddy didn't go too fast. I wasn't able to capture her smile on camera, but she did seem to like it. She got a little fussy, but I think that was mostly due to the hiccups.

On another note, this child is so close to rolling over it's ridiculous. Maybe we will get there soon!
