Pumpkin Patch 2010

We headed out last Sunday for our second annual trip to the pumpkin patch. We had set ourselves up for a disaster. Payton woke up at 4:45 that morning ready to play. After going to church and a trip to Wal-Mart, she slept a total of 30 minutes. She of course refused to sleep the entire way there. We knew we were pushing our luck, but decided we would make the best of it. She actually was pretty good considering the circumstances. Of course her mood could have been better, but we considered it a success.

We started out at the tractors, and quickly found a calf. Payton loved feeding her with the bottle.

Payton loved seeing all of the animals. She especially loved feeding the sheep.

Next we hopped on the hay ride to pick out a pumpkin. We only got one family picture of the day, and as you can see, it's not the best. Maybe next time...

We then headed to the inflatables. The picture of me is terrible, but I included it just to prove that I waddled my way the entire way through the obstacle course. It was rough, but I made it. Payton on the other hand, thought it was the best thing ever.

After a quick ride of the cow train, it was time to go. Jonathan snapped a few pictures of the kids playing with the pumpkins on our way out. As you can see, Payton was filthy by this point. Please excuse the dirt all over her. It wasn't worth the fight at that point.

Until next year...

What can you do...

but laugh? Payton makes me laugh all the time. This past week, I just so happened to snap two of those incidences with my camera. Sometimes she makes it very difficult to discipline because she knows just when to do something cute. The first picture was the other morning right after Jonathan had gotten her dressed. We were fixing her breakfast when I turned away for about 2 seconds. This is what I saw...

This was the other afternoon when we got home. If you can't see, she took her baby's potty and put it up on the rocking chair and proceeded to sit down on it and say "Payton potty."

She makes life so fun!

Sunday Afternoon Fun

There's nothing like reading books in the hammock with daddy and taking a spin around the back yard in the golf cart. Why do these types of days have to end so quickly?

Welcome Fall!

We are loving this weather! I would just assume stay outside all day long. Today, we took a wagon ride up to the walking trail and met Chase and Christopher there to run around and play. They had more fun walking Mollie and pulling the wagon than anything else. We just enjoyed the cool temperatures and sunshine.

Please excuse Payton's hair. She had a bad case of the nap hairdo going on. We are looking forward to more wonderful weather to come

Friday Night Block Party

We headed downtown Friday night for the Block Party. They close the street downtown and the kids are free to dance the night away. Payton however spent most of her night pushing the stroller.

This handsome guy met us there!

After a little while Payton decided that she would give dancing a try. Her daddy was a great partner.

Just when Payton thought the night couldn't get any better, daddy bought Payton a ring pop. It was too good not to let Ella in on the fun (even though her mommy said no).
I just couldn't end this post without a picture of Auburn's newest cheerleader. War eagle!

Labor Day Weekend

Our weekend started off with an ice cream date with daddy Friday afternoon. Jonathan didn't officially have to work on Friday, so he was home when I got off work. As we were enjoying our ice cream, we noticed several airplanes flying. Payton loves airplanes and has made a few trips to the airport with mom, so we figured it was a great afternoon to check it out. Being Friday afternoon before the first home game, the AU airport was quite the happening place. We got to see several take off and land one after the other. Payton loved spotting them all.

We decided to stay around town Saturday and ended up walking around campus for a bit. We enjoyed every minute of the beautiful weather and headed home by early afternoon. We watched the game at home so Payton could get to sleep since she didn't have a great nap. Sunday we celebrated Ella's 2nd birthday. As always, the kids had a great time playing together. Getting a picture of these three is dang near impossible.

I can't believe that sweet girl is 2 years old. Happy Birthday Ella Brooke!Payton enjoyed "swimming" in the baby pool outside.

After leaving the birthday party, daddy was dying to get to the lake. We got there Sunday evening and got ready for the day on Monday. Unfortunately, I didn't take many pictures. Paxton made a stop by so that the kids could go to the beach together. They had a ball! We went out later on the boat and Payton enjoyed her afternoon nap. As you can see, she fell asleep standing straight up.

We had a very fun-filled Labor Day weekend. Why is that I could always use an extra day? We enjoyed some great family time and soaked up every minute of the beautiful weather!
