Family Easter Festivities

The Saturday before Easter we had my family over for a quick meal and hunt. Payton and Jonathan wend to the A-Day game while the rest of us rested and got ready for dinner.

The girls were ready for a hunt!

Everyone got a prize egg. Harper's expression says it all.

Little man loved watching the festivities. (He was right at 8 months here.)

After everyone left, Nana and Pop came over with egg dying supplies!

It was timer o crash and get ready for the Easter bunny. The girls each got an Easter dress, goggles for upcoming swim lessons, dive rings, vitamins, bubble bath, and a few pieces of candy.

Anderson just enjoyed his bottle.

He made it to early church that morning, but Anderson and I were both starting to feel yucky.
The girls played a lot outside.

One of the best attempts yet at a picture of all three.

Anderson and I hung out a lot together. He didn't want to be put down, and I didn't have energy to play with the girls. This was just the beginning of a long week for us both.

We will count this as his official 8 month picture.

Pitiful eyes.

It was time for the official egg hunt!

That ended our Easter festivities for 2014!

Annual Easter Egg Hunt

We headed to the 6th annual Reetz/Wynn egg hunt the Thursday afternoon before Easter. We always look forward to this fun event with Mommy's school friends. We had to stop for a photo op. with the bunnies.

Funny story: notice the look on Payton's face below. Before the egg hunt began, I looked over and saw Payton holding a golden egg. Very quietly and abruptly I told her to put it back, that the hunt had not started. I then had a friend overhear the conversation come up to me and tell me that she had already found it, and hidden it in the sand box so that she would know where it was. I think it's hilarious, long story short, she puts back the egg and gets ready for the hunt to begin. The preschool kids are in the front yard and the older in the backyard. I let her pick which one she wanted to go to, knowing good and well she would pick the backyard because of the known golden egg. Sure enough, that's what she chose. As soon as the hunt began, she TOOK off! She tripped on a root and busted it just shy of the egg. I was worried about her, but I also knew good and well that if someone walked right by and got the egg before she did, a meltdown would soon ensue. I ran over to her, encouraged her to get up and keep going. She jumped right up, got the egg, and then started crying about her hard crash. She really did fall hard, but that didn't stop my girl! I think the reason the story is pretty funny to me is because it's not really Payton's personality to be so forceful at something like that, especially around a lot of kids she doesn't know. After some encouragement, she continued to hunt finding a few more eggs that she really wasn't that concerned about. All that mattered was that golden egg. See picture below for her continued hunt expression. :)

The littles even hunted for some eggs.

Fail.

This might just be my favorite picture of Harper to date. Smocked dress, boots, pigtails, and a cupcake. That's Harper.

We then headed home for a fun afternoon of swinging.

Easter Chapels

The girls had their sweet Easter chapels again this year and thankfully I was able to attend both since I had an intern. Just as it was last year I believe, it was FREEZING the week of Easter even though it was later in April. Harper had a sweet chapel service where my camera battery died, so the only pictures that I have are from my phone at the egg hunt.

Is she not the cutest little bunny ever? She loved her sweet egg hunt and snack with her friends as well as all of her visitors who came to see her!

Payton's was that Thursday. She did an excellent job singing and listening in her service also.

Her sweet class ready for their hunt on the playground. (It was still chilly, but at least bearable by Thursday.)

The battery was charged this time, so hence the reason for more pictures. Looking back on these sweet pictures already makes me miss her sweet preschool class so much!
