Big Girl Bed

Towards the end of April we ordered Harper new bedding and made a trip to Ikea to purchase her new big girl bed. The girl loved/loves her crib so we weren't sure how it would go. We've never really put blankets and such in the girls' cribs. Harper all of a sudden started asking for a blanket so we were hoping that was an indication that she might like it. We finally got it all set up and Payton was so sweet to help make her bed to surprise her when we brought her upstairs. Payton immediately started asking if they could sleep together now that she's in a big girl bed. We told her she needed a little time to get used to it first. So far so good! There have been a few nights or naps where she wasn't so sure, but overall she's done excellent! We have let the girls sleep together a couple of nights on the weekend and I think they both loved it. So precious!!!

This is just the beginnings of getting baby brother's room together as we move the crib to the extra bedroom which is currently being taken over by Christmas decorations and all kinds of other junk.

Let summer begin!

It's only my third day of summer vacation and it's safe to say we are already soaking it up! After spending two days at the lake we headed home to enjoy an ice cream date my with my girls and a picnic lunch outside. My summer bucket list builds by the day. I am beyond thankful to be home with the girls for the next few months and get ready to welcome baby brother into our family in a little over two months. Yikes! We have a lot to do, but we are going to be sure to try and live it to the fullest.

Mother's Day

We celebrated Mother's Day with all of mothers we love! After church we headed to Great Bamama's house to visit with my family as well as enjoy a delicious meal that Uncle Mike prepared. Then we headed to Nana's house to celebrate with Jonathan's family. We are SO blessed by the mothers in our lives. Of course, words can't express how lucky I feel to be these two girls' momma.

Big Sisters

If the way these girls care for their babies is any indication of the care they will give their baby brother, he is in for a treat!
Clean diapers. Checkups with the Doc McStuffins kit. Fans because it was hot. Toys to keep them entertained. And don't forget pictures to capture the sweet moments.

Goodness, I love these two precious girls!

The Last Roll

We took the girls to the A Day game this year. They did excellent for about the first hour and a half and then Harper knew it was supposed to be nap time and started getting tired. Not to mention that at A Day they don't have a half time show, the eagle flying, etc. to keep them entertained. We sat in the Beckwith Club so the popcorn and ice cream helped tie us over for a while. :) After the game was the last roll of Toomer's Corner. There were a ton of people there and it was near impossible to get a stroller close to the trees.

As you can tell, we had two exhausted little girls at this point.

Until Pop started a roller coaster ride in the stroller.

We went back on Sunday to get a closer look and let the girls experience everything. Of course it's not quite the same without their Auburn attire on!

The girls weren't too sure what to think when we first got there.

Harper kept wanting to blow her nose.

We found some toilet paper and a little tree for them to throw the paper on. Payton was so funny because she wouldn't throw the roll. She would only take off pieces at a time, only to be sure not to lose her roll.

It was definitely fun and I'm so sad that our kids won't grow up with the same memories that I have of the infamous Toomer's Corner rolling.

Chase turns 5!

We celebrated Chase turning 5 playing at Monkey Park! The weather was absolutely gorgeous and fun was had by all!
