8 months and a beach trip

First off, Payton turned 8 months old last week. This girl is growing and changing so much right now. It's crazy to think that a little more than a month ago she wasn't even mobile. I think it's fair to say that she is in the "exploring" phase. She has finally figured out the crawling can get her places, not just to the toys in the living room. All she wants to do is stand up, and can even stand for a few seconds all by herself at times. I do not anticipate it being too far down the road before she is taking steps. She weighs a whopping 17 lbs. 13 ounces these days. She has started stage three foods, and still isn't too sure about them. She does love eating/playing the Gerber stars. Meanwhile, she proved once again to be her mama's child tonight at dinner as she enjoyed a few bites of mashed potatoes.

We were able to get away for a few days this weekend to the beach. The weather was beautiful, and it was so nice just to get out of Auburn. We stayed with Jonathan's brother and sister, but I think there were a total of about twenty family members down for the weekend. It is so much fun to watch all of the little ones together. Payton tries so hard to keep up with Ella and Chase. We are sure going to be in for it in a few months. This was Payton's first real experience with the sand. We had taken her down to the beach a few times earlier this year, but she was too little to know the difference. She loved running it through her fingers. I must admit, I was a little shocked it didn't go straight to her mouth. Unfortunately, we didn't take too many pictures. Here are a few of my favorites of what we did take.

Pumpkin Patch

We went to the pumpkin patch this past weekend. Of course next year Payton will be able to enjoy it a little more, but we had a great time anyways. Happy Fall!

Splish Splash

Payton had her first bubble bath last week and loved it!

I had to include this last picture. She is no longer content with sitting or crawling. This child wants to stand every minute. This week she has mastered pulling up on toys, and can even sit herself down now without a big fall.

Baptism, 7 months, and changes

We have had so much happening around here lately. Payton was baptized this past Sunday. We were so blessed to have so many people come to show their support for her. Afterwards, we enjoyed getting to visit and eat lunch. It was such a treat to spend the day with family. I feel like I say this all the time, but we are incredibly blessed to have such a great family. I counted somewhere around twenty people who were there Sunday for her. She also wore the gown that my grandmother made for me and Andy when we were babies. What a special blessing!

Our big girl turned seven months on Monday. Time is flying faster than I can even realize. She is enjoying crawling and moving around. She actually spends more of her efforts trying to stand up (as you can see in the picture). We finally lowered her crib this past weekend and she is starting to drink a little out of a sippy cup. I told Jonathan that this was all way too much for me to take in at once. Any way about it, we are having so much fun with this little girl!

Here comes trouble!

Please ignore my obnoxious, high pitched voice in the background!

Happy Birthday Ella!

Ella's first birthday was September 4 and we celebrated it that following Sunday. I just haven't had the time to post the pictures. We had so much fun celebrating with her. I love that little girl to pieces! Happy 1st birthday Ella!
